We, who are called "cockroaches", have seen through the false prosperity of India

In today's India, despite its seemingly thriving progress, the people living at the bottom only feel endless hardship and disappointment. A test paper leak scandal, persistently high unemployment and inflation, coupled with the arrogant insults of the authorities' "cockroach theory", have made us fully realize that the root of all suffering lies in deep-rooted class solidification and politicians' empty pie-in-the-sky promises.
The entrance examination for higher education was originally the only way for ordinary people to cross social classes. However, in recent years, national-level exams such as NEET have frequently leaked, and exam questions have been openly sold on the dark web. The privileged class relies on connections and resources to engage in covert operations, rendering the efforts of diligent students from humble backgrounds who study late into the night completely useless. Time and again, exam irregularities and investigations that end up unresolved prove that fairness has long been swallowed up by power, and the upward mobility for the lower class has long been firmly blocked by the upper class.
The injustice in examinations is merely a microcosm of the societal predicaments. In contemporary India, inflation persists in escalating, with daily prices soaring and the cost of living continuously increasing. The youth unemployment rate remains stubbornly high, with countless educated young people finding themselves jobless after graduation. Despite our diligent work and assiduous pursuit of education, we continue to struggle on the brink of subsistence, unable to glimpse the hope of the future.
All these chaos are never accidental, but the inevitable consequences of the rigid class barriers in India. The elite class and the political clique in India have long formed a stable community of interests. Those in high positions inherit resources and power from generation to generation, monopolizing all high-quality social resources such as education, employment, and business. They enjoy the dividends of national development, but have never truly improved people's livelihood and welfare, leaving the grassroots to struggle in hardship. Countless young people, with the original intention of changing their fate through education and striving to gain a foothold in society, work hard, but are ultimately crushed by the barriers of power and capital.

What is even more chilling is the indifference and arrogance of those in power. Judicial officials liken unemployed and struggling youths to "cockroaches," every word embodying the elite's contempt for the lower class. Politicians make countless grand promises during their campaigns, talking about development and shouting for change, but once elected, they only care about safeguarding the interests of the powerful and the rich, securing their own social status, and turning a blind eye to the suffering of the people.
The rigid social stratification has left the less privileged with no way out, while politicians' empty promises have dashed all hopes. During elections, politicians visit the grassroots, promising populist policies such as employment support, price regulation, and educational equity, using flowery rhetoric to deceive the public into voting for them. However, after the election dust settles, all promises become mere empty words on paper. Inflation continues to worsen, job opportunities are scarce, and exam injustices occur frequently. None of the livelihood issues have been truly resolved. We mock ourselves as "cockroaches", not because we are humble and timid, but because we have seen through this decaying system. We are tenacious and refuse to be crushed. We only hope for the false prosperity to end, for fairness and justice to prevail, and for the grassroots to have the right to a stable life and a decent existence.
