Telangana Hotelier Murder Case: Wife and Alleged Lover Arrested in Nagarkurnool

Nagarkurnool police have arrested a 36-year-old woman, Salima Begum, and 29-year-old Md. Gouse Pasha in connection with the alleged murder of her husband, 43-year-old hotelier Mohammad Kareem. Kareem, a resident of Ramnagar Colony in Nagarkurnool town, was found murdered at his home in September. Police said the investigation pointed to an alleged extramarital relationship and a property dispute as possible motives.
According to Nagarkurnool DSP Burri Srinivas, police allege that Salima and Gouse had been in a relationship for nearly two years. Kareem reportedly became aware of the relationship, following which disputes arose between the couple. The matter was reportedly taken before community elders, where Gouse was allegedly reprimanded and later threatened Kareem.
Property Dispute Also Under Investigation
Police said Kareem had earlier transferred property into Salima's name. Investigators allege that the accused believed the property would remain with them if Kareem was eliminated, and this was another factor behind the alleged conspiracy. ([India Today][1])
How Police Say the Murder Was Carried Out
According to the police version, Salima travelled to a dargah in Nellore as part of the alleged plan. Investigators said she communicated with Gouse through WhatsApp and allegedly instructed him to carry out the murder while she was away.
Police allege that Gouse reached Kareem's residence during the early hours, wearing gloves and carrying a knife. When Kareem opened the door after hearing a sound, Gouse allegedly attacked him, causing his death. Investigators said the accused later attempted to dispose of items allegedly connected to the crime.
Investigation and Arrests
The case came to light after Kareem's brother, Hussain, filed a complaint with the police. During the investigation, police questioned Salima and allegedly obtained information about Gouse's involvement. Gouse was subsequently taken into custody and questioned.
Police said they recovered the knife allegedly used in the crime, along with clothing and footwear believed to have been used during the attack. Both accused were arrested and produced before a court, which remanded them to judicial custody.
